Friday connects to the tools your team already uses (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Slack, Zoom, GitHub, and Bitly) and moves work forward inside them, while you stay on the decisions that need a person.

What it is

A place where work happens.

Many tools hand you advice in a side panel and leave the doing to you. Friday does the doing. You describe the work in plain words, and it reads the doc, the spreadsheet, the thread, or the call, then does the work there.

Friday is two things. The platform is the plumbing every app shares: connectors, chat, previews and approvals, automations, permissions, and receipts. The apps sit on top: Chats, Slides, Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Automations, and Skills, plus the custom ones we build with teams whose work doesn't fit a general tool.

Friday drafts the document, stages the deck on your template, checks the rows against the source, and files the result in the right folder. It shows each step as it goes, previews anything that would write, and stops at the calls that need your judgment. The work stays yours.

Describe it the way you'd brief a sharp colleague. Type it or say it. Friday gathers the context from your files before it starts, and asks when it's unsure.

See the change and its sources before anything is written. Apply it, adjust it, or take the next part yourself. Hand off the recurring parts as automations.

The principles we build against.

Keep judgment close. Low-risk work can move quickly. Taste, structure, and irreversible changes deserve tighter alignment.
Show the work. Sources, progress, boundaries, and next actions stay inspectable.
Prefer the smallest sufficient step. A lookup, one focused action, or a plain recommendation beats a workflow nobody asked for.
Say “do it directly.” When the manual path is faster, safer, or clearer, Friday should tell you so.
Make trust practical. Approvals, evidence, reversibility, and honest uncertainty are product features.
Extend your reach. Friday should make your reach longer without making your judgment smaller.

What we build around the model.

Friday uses AI to read context and draft the next step. What makes it usable for daily work is everything around the model: previews before writes, sources on answers, receipts on runs, and clear boundaries on what is connected.

Before a connector action ships, we test it against the live tool. When Friday isn't sure, it says so instead of guessing. It runs on whichever model fits the job.

Who builds it

Friday.land is built by Rico Kahler, an engineer who worked on content systems and large-scale software before starting Friday. The company starts with teams rather than sign-up forms. We join the channels and standups, learn how the work runs, and build what is missing on the platform. That is where the product comes from, and why custom apps are part of the offer.
