Before you start
You need a Friday account and a Claude plan that supports custom connectors, or Claude Code. Friday is set up per team; if your team does not use Friday yet, request a demo.
Friday's MCP server address is:
https://app.friday.land/api/mcp
If your team has its own Friday address, copy the address shown in Friday under Settings, then API tokens.
Add Friday to Claude
Pro and Max plans
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Friday and paste the address above. Keep Claude's default sign-in settings; Friday needs no client ID or secret.
- Choose Add, and sign in when Claude asks.
- Sign in to Friday with Google, reconnect any tools Friday asks about, review the access, and choose Authorize.
Team and Enterprise plans
- An owner opens Organization settings, then Connectors, chooses Add, then Custom, then Web, and adds Friday with the address above.
- Each member then finds Friday in their connectors, chooses Connect, signs in to Friday and chooses Authorize.
Claude's menus change from time to time. If a label differs, look for custom connectors in Claude's settings.
Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http friday https://app.friday.land/api/mcp,
then type /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to Friday. Use your
team's own Friday address if it has one.
What Claude can reach
Once you approve, the app can use the Friday tools your account can use: your Friday chats, projects, tasks, files and reports, and the tools you have connected, such as Drive, Gmail, Calendar and Slack. Friday's approval page lists three permissions:
- Read connector context: read your Friday work and your connected tools.
- Create and preview connector work: write Friday files, run Friday scripts, and create previews of changes.
- Apply reviewed changes: apply changes that were previewed, such as an approved slides update.
The app works only as you and sees only what your Friday access allows. Workspace admins need a recent passkey check in Friday before they can approve.
Each Friday tool tells Claude whether it only reads or makes a change, so Claude can ask before a change. Claude decides when to ask you, using its own tool permission settings. Friday does not ask again, so allow tools that make changes only when you want Claude to make them. Friday and Claude can both make mistakes, so check important results.
Disconnect
In Friday, open Settings, then Security. Under Apps with access to Friday, choose Disconnect next to the app and confirm. Its access ends right away. You can also remove the connector in the app itself.
Disconnecting does not delete anything the app created or changed through Friday. Your Friday chats and results stay in your workspace until you delete them or an admin erases them.
